Cosmetic repair and specialist cleaning

Cosmetic repair and specialist cleaning for footwear

Glue marks, surface scuffs and uneven finishes are a common result of high-volume overseas manufacturing. They make good stock look second-rate. We remove them, material by material, so the goods can be sold at full price.

What we deal with

  • Glue residue around the sole line and seams
  • Surface scuffs and marks from packing and transit
  • Finish inconsistencies on leather and synthetic uppers
  • Staining on textile, knit and mesh
  • Marks left by mould once the mould itself has been treated

Matched to the material, and honest about the result

Every material responds differently. Cleaning that works on smooth leather can damage suede, and a solvent that lifts glue from a synthetic upper can mark a printed finish. We choose the product and method for each material and each type of mark.

Some marks cannot be removed without risk to the material. When that happens we stop, record the unit and refer it to you, rather than release stock we are not satisfied with.

Alongside mould remediation

Mould-affected consignments often carry cosmetic marks too. We handle both in one programme, with one intake, one set of records and one return delivery.

Questions
