Inspection, re-grading and repackaging

Footwear inspection, re-grading and repackaging

Before stock goes back on sale you need to know what you have. We inspect every unit individually, sort it by condition, repack it properly and give you a record you can reconcile against what you sent.

What we check on every unit

  1. 1The outer shoe box
  2. 2The inner shoe box
  3. 3The paper packaging around the shoes
  4. 4The paper stuffing inside the shoes
  5. 5The outer parts of the shoes
  6. 6The insole and inner lining
  7. 7Any musty or mouldy odour

Inspection is visual and by smell, by trained operatives under controlled conditions. It does not include laboratory testing.

How we grade each unit

Retail-ready

Passed final inspection and released for sale.

Referred to you

A mark or fault that we cannot correct without risk to the material. We record it and ask for your decision rather than release it as retail-ready.

Unable to remediate

Units that cannot be brought to retail standard are sealed, labelled and recorded, so your figures reconcile.

Repackaging that keeps stock sellable

Footwear is restuffed with new tissue and returned to its box. Boxes are remediated wherever possible and replaced only where they cannot be saved. Labels and identifiers are kept or reapplied, so every unit stays identifiable and the consignment can be reconciled against the quantities received.

Keeping the original box matters. It means stock can go straight back on sale without repackaging costs or a loss of presentation. On our most recent large consignment, every original box was saved.

Before: mould spots inside a cardboard shoe box BEFORE
After: the inside of the box clean and dry AFTER

A record you can rely on

Every job ends with a mould confirmation report and a completion statement showing units received, units released and units that could not be remediated. On larger jobs we also issue interim updates, so you know how far through the consignment we are.

When this service helps

  • After mould treatment, as part of the full remediation process
  • When a consignment has arrived with damaged or mould-affected packaging
  • When you need affected stock separated from sound stock before a sale or claim decision
